• Job Summary: • The Lead EIS Database Administrator leads and works collaboratively on the EIS DBA technology team in designing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimization of Oracle Database, SQL Server, MySQL, SAP HANA and PostgreSQL database instances for departmental and enterprise-wide systems across physical and virtual servers for both on-premises and cloud platforms. The Lead acts as the DBA representative to all other EIS teams and departments, including, but not limited to, Linux/AIX/Windows OS teams, and server and storage hardware/virtualization infrastructure teams. The Lead coordinates with management to set project goals, requirements, schedules and provide feedback on performance assessments for EIS DBA team members. The Lead coordinates daily work and long-term projects of the EIS DBA team and leads the team in fulfilment of those goals. • Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Leads and coordinates the work of the EIS DBA technology team. Supervises staff and sets project goals, requirements, and schedules. Communicate and coordinate with other teams (Unix, Linux, Windows, Network, SAN, etc) related to database and environment support and projects. • Supervises and participates in designing, coding, testing, implementing and troubleshooting of database stored procedures, packages, triggers and functions. • Coordinates and assists with the installation, security/bug-fix patching, server maintenance and upgrades of enterprise-wide databases. • Designs and implements viable database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies and mechanisms. Executes database recovery, restoration, and/or restart as required. Perform quarterly disaster recovery validation. • Defines and implements database parameters, security, audit, and resource allocation policies and procedures. Defines, creates, and manages user accounts, profiles, privileges, roles, and required audit information. • Audits database features and versions to maintain licensing compliance across all relevant products. • Stays current with industry trends and technology advances in the area of database technology. Attends training and educational seminars as required. Communicates relevant information to EIS staff and user departments. • Mentors and develops DBA skills for staff through individual and team training sessions. • Provides technical expertise to outside vendors, contractors, EIS management, and other EIS staff, as needed. • Participates in DBA on-call rotation (24/7) in a weekly rotation. Mentors and supports EIS DBA team members during their on-call rotations when assigned. Manages the on-call rotation of EIS DBA staff members. Participates and offers expertise in critical-call event management. • Creates, maintains and ensures documentation of team processes and procedures, including operating manuals or training materials for internally managed databases and systems. • Maintains and develops automation and scripts within the database environment using scripting technologies (Microsoft PowerShell, Python, Perl, Shell Scripting) • Carries a department-supplied laptop and responds to pages in a timely manner. • Escalates and statuses management on DBA assigned tasks and priority production support issues. • Leads daily SCRUM calls and weekly team meeting to track projects and assignments progress and issues. • JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Requires 8 years of production database administration experience.
