Amrapali Solutions is a specialized technology partner delivering mission-critical software platforms for the global life insurance and financial services sector. Headquartered in Bangalore with a distributed delivery model, we engineer core policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and distribution management systems that process millions of policies daily for Tier-1 insurers across North America, Europe, and APAC. Our engineering culture emphasizes architectural rigor, domain depth, and long-term maintainability over feature velocity alone.
We are hiring a Senior Backend Developer to own the design, development, and operational excellence of backend services powering our next-generation life insurance platform. This is an individual contributor role with technical leadership expectations — you will shape service boundaries, define data contracts, mentor mid-level engineers, and collaborate daily with product owners, architects, and QA leads across time zones. The position is 100% work-from-office at our Bangalore development center, reflecting the collaborative intensity required for domain-heavy, regulated-system delivery.
In this role, you will architect and implement microservices using .NET Core 10 that handle complex insurance workflows — policy inception, endorsement processing, premium calculation, rider management, and claims adjudication. You will engineer high-performance RESTful APIs with OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect security, idempotency guarantees, and comprehensive observability (structured logging, distributed tracing via Application Insights, custom metrics). Data access will be implemented through Entity Framework Core 8+ with optimized LINQ queries, compiled query plans, and strategic use of raw SQL for bulk operations against Azure SQL Database (Hyperscale tier). You will apply CQRS and Repository patterns to separate read/write concerns, enabling scalable query models for reporting and analytics.
Quality is non-negotiable. You will lead the creation and maintenance of NUnit test suites targeting 90%+ code coverage, including unit tests for domain logic, integration tests for repository implementations, and contract tests for API consumers. Azure DevOps pipelines will be configured for automated build, static analysis (SonarCloud), security scanning (OWASP dependency check), and staged deployments to dev, test, and pre-prod environments with automated rollback on health check failures. Infrastructure-as-code via Bicep templates will define Azure Functions (isolated worker model), App Services (Premium v3), API Management, Key Vault, and Azure AD B2C for external identity federation.
Day-to-day, you will participate in PI planning, refine epics into vertically sliced stories with clear acceptance criteria, conduct code reviews focused on architectural alignment and security hygiene, and troubleshoot production incidents using Kusto queries in Log Analytics. You will partner with the data engineering team to design change-data-capture pipelines feeding the enterprise data lake, and with the DevSecOps squad to harden container images (Distroless base) and enforce policy-as-code via Azure Policy.
We require 6–10 years of dedicated backend development experience within the life insurance domain — specifically policy administration, new business, underwriting, or claims systems. A stable career trajectory with 3+ year tenures is essential; this role demands deep domain retention, not resume breadth. You must hold a B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent. Hands-on expertise with .NET Core 6/7/8/10, Azure PaaS services, EF Core, and CQRS is mandatory. Proficiency in Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards), Git branching strategies (trunk-based with short-lived feature branches), and NUnit/xUnit is expected. Exceptional written and spoken English is required for daily technical syncs with product and architecture teams in the US and UK.
We offer a competitive CTC of ₹18–30 LPA (fixed + variable), comprehensive health insurance for employee and dependents, annual learning budget (₹75K), certification sponsorship (Azure, .NET, domain), and a clear progression track to Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager within 24 months. The team operates on a 2-week sprint cadence with quarterly hackathons focused on platform innovation (e.g., GenAI-assisted underwriting, event-driven policy event sourcing).
Our hiring process: (1) 30-min screening call with Talent Acquisition covering career trajectory and domain fit; (2) 60-min technical deep-dive with a Senior Architect — system design (insurance domain), code review exercise, and debugging scenario; (3) 45-min pair programming session on a realistic service slice (API + EF Core + unit tests); (4) 30-min cultural alignment conversation with the Engineering Manager. Decisions communicated within 5 business days of final round. Offer letter issued within 48 hours of verbal acceptance.
